Description | After the Covid-19 pandemic, millions of American drivers have been forced to renew their driver’s license, which had expired during confinements. Taking advantage of this need, because for many it constitutes their only valid identity document, several cybercriminals have developed a ‘phishing’ method by which, posing as the traffic authorities, they send victims an email with a link to a fake online renewal form. The investigators suspect that, through this procedure, they have been able to steal the personal data, name, surname, addresses, phone numbers, of a large number of citizens. | |
