Description | Due to a defect in the hill start assist – a system that holds the vehicle for a few seconds so that it does not roll backwards when starting uphill – when the vehicle moves from a slippery surface, such as a patch of ice, to a grippier surface and the driver applies the brake immediately, the vehicle may suddenly accelerate after releasing the brake, increasing the risk of an accident. In addition, the brake lights may illuminate when driving in reverse even if the brake pedal is not depressed, due to an incorrect lighting control setting. | |
