Description 

An overload in the electrical system of the 48-volt micro-hybrid equipment – which in these models is used to support the main engine in order to reduce fuel consumption – can cause a cascading electrical fault, causing the DCDC converter to short-circuit. As a result, smoke from the DCDC converter can be transferred into the passenger compartment and, if sufficient oxygen is present, a fire could break out in the vehicle, putting passengers at risk.
