Spain’s national postal service Correos is significantly expanding its sustainable delivery capabilities with the addition of 800 new electric motorcycles, marking a major step toward its goal of operating one of the country’s largest eco-friendly delivery fleets.
The new motorcycles are NUUK Cargopro models, manufactured by Basque startup NUUK Mobility Solutions (NMS). According to the firm, the vehicles represent a breakthrough in delivery technology, becoming the world’s first motorcycles to receive vehicle cybersecurity certification after passing rigorous EUROCYBCAR/AENOR auditing standards.
The cyber-secure designation addresses growing concerns about vehicle hacking, Correos noted. The motorcycles include protection against potential cyberattacks that could manipulate engine power systems, override braking controls, access user data and delivery routes, or even enable vehicle theft.
