The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe developed standard UNECE/R155 and it came into force last year. It requires that applicable vehicles be homologated by July 2022 and commercialized from July 2024. An electric motorcycle is the world’s first certified “cyber-secure vehicle”. The NUUK Cargopro was just announced as meeting the accreditation process for the EUROCYBCAR test. That’s why it’s newsworthy that the first vehicle to gain accreditation has two wheels instead of four. Vehicles that aren’t cyber-secure can be stolen or remotely manipulated or personal information highjacked.
